:: CONCESSIONS ::

OPSR manages a number of INCENTIVE SCHEMES on behalf of Government, which complement the work of the PSDP, in that, they cater to infrastructural projects, which are not funded by the Programme. These concessions serve as incentives that further enable the business community to deliver improved
services to the public.

 
    OPSR therefore handles applications for
waivers of duties and taxes as follows:
   


UNDER THE SPECIAL DEVELOPMENT AREAS
ACT NO. 2 OF 1998

1.   Import duty, stamp duty and consumption tax on inputs for the
      construction of new buildings and the renovation or refurbishment       of existing buildings

2.   Land and House Tax

3.   Stamp duty payable by vendors and purchasers on the initial
      purchase of property, whether by nationals or non-national


Application Details:

•  Application forms available from OPSR
•  Form must be accompanied by:
       - Bill of Quantities – authenticated by a reputable
         quantity surveyor
       - Site plan, drawings
       - Deed of sale

•  Applications approved by Minister for Finance
       - Must be used for approved project only
       - Must be verified by Customs
       - Approvals are published in the Saint Lucia Gazette

 
 
   


UNDER THE DEVELOPMENT AGENCIES
ACT NO. 26 OF 1999

1.   For the Agency: All Customs duties on importation of equipment
      and vehicles;

2.    For the Non-National Professional Staff employed by the agency:
       - Income Tax and other duties and taxes on all emoluments
         received by reason of employment of professional staff with
         the development agency;
       - Travel Tax for official business overseas;
       - All Customs duties, on importation and exportation of all                   personal and household effects including one motor vehicle.

 


Application Details:

•  To apply, please submit a letter of request, accompanied
    by supporting invoices
•  Applications are approved by the Minister for Finance
•  Vehicles and Equipment must be procured for core     operations of the Agency

TOURIST (DUTY FREE SHOPPING SYSTEM)
ACT NO. 23 OF 1986
